Want to Relieve Knee Pain? Here’s the Best of the 3 Week Diets

Brian Flatt’s New Diet Plan–Why 3 Weeks?

Brian had taught a 2 week diet course, but decided to make it a three week course, because people take three weeks, or 21 days, to form a new habit. His idea is to get you in the habit of eating right, not just losing weight for 2 weeks, only to have the weight come back. This plan is a well thought out, science based plan with a solid theoretic foundation. Here’s a free ebook which gives you a lot of information about the diet. There is a paid version which goes into great detail about what kinds of foods you should eat during the 3 week period, as well as optional recommendations for supplements and energy drinks.

Brian had a 2 week diet plan, but decided to change it to a 3 week plan. Why

The 2 Week Diet

Brian is a recognized personal fitness trainer who charges pretty hefty fees if you go to his studio in California, so this plan gives you the information you need to do his program at a fraction of the cost of in person face to face instruction.

It also gives you a detailed yet simple exercise program that is easy to follow. One other advantage is that the program comes with a Facebook group, so that if you have a question, you can ask it in the group and get an answer quickly, without having to submit a customer service request (although those are answered usually within a day or so.)

There is also an optional upgrade plan which gives you access to personalized coaching for about $50 a month. Here is a recent press release discussing the basics of the plan.

Groundbreaking 2 Week Weight Loss Program Guarantees 15 Lost Pounds in Just 14 Days

2 Week Diet By Brian Flatt

SAN DIEGO, March 27, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Dieters dissatisfied with ineffective, run-of-the-mill diets now have access to a groundbreaking program that guarantees weight loss of 8-16 pounds in 14 days.
Brian Flatt, a seasoned nutritionist and owner of R.E.V. Fitness, developed The 2 Week Diet in response to “mainstream diet programs that are time-consuming, inefficient, and just plain ineffective.”
After reading well over 500 medical studies, dozens of diet books and reviewing hundreds of diet systems, programs, gadgets, pills and potions, Flatt put together what he feels is “the ultimate rapid weight loss diet system.” This program is the result of more than a decade of research and more than two and a half years of real-world tweaking and testing.
According to nutrition experts like Dr. Alessio Fasano, holder of the W. Allan Walker Chair at Harvard Medical School, the primary culprit of weight gain is cellular inflammation. The 2 Week Diet applies groundbreaking findings like these to optimize the body’s natural fat-burning mechanisms.

“If we take control of cellular inflammation, we can effectively increase our ability to lose weight, burn fat, increase metabolism, and permanently stave off body fat,” Flatt said.
His 2 Week Diet also:

Can Brian Flatt’s 2 Week Diet Take Stress Off of Your Knees?

You can take stress off your knees If you burn fat, and lose up to 10 pounds or more in 2 weeks. If you have knee pain, and are overweight– that could be a big reason why your knees hurt.  Here is the fact: Every pound you are overweight is like 4 pounds on your knee joint.

Unlike some people who have reviewed Brian Flatt’s 2 Week Diet, I am not going to say, “I was 50 pounds overweight and lost 20 pounds in 2 weeks”. In this review of the 14 day diet, exercise and meal plan, I will share with you my actual experience using the diet at that time. So read on!

Do You Have Issues Like These?

  • One issue is that my knees are sensitive, especially the one that’s been injured 3 times. I stay in reasonably good shape with exercise and diet.  I also eat healthy foods, get enough protein, vegetables, and drink plenty of water–at least 2 quarts a day.  However, my knees do act up from time to time. So I look for every possible way to prevent knee pain.
  • I am over 60, so loss of muscle strength and bone density become an issue, too,  I had decided to start weight training a year and a half earlier.
  • Persistent body fat, that’s hard to burn

Detox and Lose Weight in 2 Weeks

I am also concerned about toxicity both in the environment and in food. So that was also a factor in considering a 2 week detox diet. My body is not exactly fat, I have had a bit of a stomach, I wanted to lose weight. So, when I saw the 2 week diet, which addresses the issue of weight loss, toxicity and proper course of exercise, it seemed like a good idea.

The 2 Week Diet

So I followed Brian’s diet plan for 2 weeks. If you want to lose those extra pounds and  have knee issues, better to lose some weight, right? Before I started, I had a persistent chunk of body fat I wanted to get rid of. I am 70 years old.  When I was 35, I weighed 135. So, seeking that fleeting fountain of youth, I wanted to get back to that 135. I also wanted to get stronger–stronger than I was at 35. When I was 35, I could do 3 pullups and about 15 pushups. Read on to see what happened.

Starting the 2 Week Diet Plan

First, when you buy the detailed course, Brian sends an overview ebook. However, feel free to get a free sneak preview. You can get the free introductory ebook here.

In a nutshell, he makes three main points. He says that most diets fail, for two reasons and he shows how to overcome them.

  1. Most diets are too hard to follow. People simply don’t have the patience follow medical advice to eat fewer calories and exercise more at the gym for days and weeks. Brian’s 2 Week Diet helps us to lose weight fast, so that we feel encouraged to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
  2. The Media tell us that  losing weight  up to 6-14 or more pounds in 2 weeks is unhealthy. He disproves that with scientific research.
  3. Start eating more fresh fruits, vegetables, reduce our total calorie intake, drink at least 2 quarts of water per day and burn excess calories through exercise, and you will lose weight. And keep it off by changing your eating habits.

Once I understood the principles of the diet plan, it made sense to give it a try. There was one other factor, aside from weight loss which he brought up, which I also was concerned about, that of toxins.

Environmental Toxins and Processed Foods Harm Health

2 Sources of toxins we are exposed to are air and water pollution.  Processed food is another source of toxicity. The toxins stay in our body fat. So if we want to shed the toxins, shed the fat! Brian Flatt has included a toxin quiz so you can get an idea of where your body stands in relation to toxins.

You can take the quiz by going here, to this link. I consider myself pretty careful by avoiding packaged and junk food.  But I live in a city that sometimes has pretty bad pollution, and  I have taken antibiotics too much.  So the quiz showed that I should have moderate concern about toxins. For that reason alone, the quiz was worth taking.

How the Diet Plan Worked

The course consists of several sections.  Since the priority is weight loss, it tells you what you should eat each day of the 14 days. One of his main ideas is to either not eat breakfast, or keep it low carbohydrate and low calorie. The first couple of days were hardest for me because they totally eliminated sugar and carbohydrates. So on the second day, I was feeling kind of drained, but I kept pushing through. I lost a couple of pounds right away. I was continuing to lose weight, following the instructions.

Overcoming Barriers to Healthy Eating

Mouthwatering Pizza

A Moment on the Lips Forever on the Hips….Bliss Now Belly Fat Later

One funny thing that happened was that I went to a networking event at Pizza Hut. I told the organizer that I wouldn’t eat the pizza, which was ok with him. But when I showed up, the tables had plates of quite delicious looking brownies as a sort of appetizer. I felt sad not being able to eat a brownie, however, one must maintain discipline. One way to do that is to ask “do I want to maintain my health, or do I indulge my sweet tooth for temporary enjoyment, and lose my health as a result.?” You may answer differently depending on the situation. But remembering, “Oh, I had a dessert yesterday, I will pass for now”, can help.

Needless to say, I gained back a couple of pounds anyway. There are two optional aspects to the diet, which are recommended, though. One point is that there are a 3 common items that people often take (sorry, can’t give away what they are, in respect for those who paid for the course.) I chose not to use two of the three recommended items, since I have used them in the past and prefer to avoid them.

High sugar snacks cause weight gain. Can result in diabetes, arthritis, heart disease. OK once in a while but don’t make a habit of eating this stuff! LOL. It didn’t help that one of the participants brought some of her homemade cupcakes…..oh well. The event organizer was very kind, he sent out for a nice chicken salad, so I felt better. Overall, I didn’t find the diet too difficult. Until day 11, which happened to fall on Thanksgiving. I restricted myself to some chicken and there was some squash soup, which would have to substitute for pumpkin pie, or my favorite, apple pie and ice cream. Oh—the sacrifices we make to get those 6 Pack Abs!

Yohimbine for Weight LossYohimbe plant photo and description

A third item is an herbal supplement that I have known about for years for its use as an energizer and even an aphrodisiac, but didn’t know that it also promotes weight loss. I ordered some by mail but it didn’t arrive in time. So for the duration of the course, I didn’t use yohimbine, which probably affected my overall weight loss. However, I have been using it since the course ended and it does seem to help increase my energy level.

The Two Week Diet Workout Plan

Lose 6-10 pounds in two weeks

The other key aspect of the diet was a new weight training program. It is short and high intensity. You can get through the daily workout in 30-40 minutes. Now, I have been working out for a year and a half already, so I know working out can be challenging. Brian recommends some exercises that I had not done before, and even though the routine takes well under an hour, it will still make you know you had a full body, fat burning workout. In the end, despite not using the supplements he suggests we use, and the Thanksgiving setback, I still ended up losing 6.6 pounds, bringing me to within a couple of pounds of my target weight at age 35, which was 135 pounds.

Most people are at least 10-20 pounds overweight, so I feel pretty good about that. Second, my stomach is definitely flatter, due to Brian’s recommended ab exercises which I had not tried before. And best of all, was that on the very last day, I did chin ups. Those are not in Brian’s recommended routine, but they give me a sense of accomplishment.

When I first started weight training, I couldn’t do even one chin up. By the final day, I had, as mentioned, lost 6.6 pounds and I did a series of chin ups with 1 minute rest. 14, 6, 5, and 1. At which point I couldn’t do any more. I then went through his routine, and just before leaving, I did another 8 chinups for a total of 34 chin ups within an hour, which I feel really good about. Wouldn’t you like to make similar progress towards your weight and fitness goals?

Best Two Week Diet to Reduce Knee Pain

Today I was at the gym and during the workout, people noticed me wearing my For-Knees knee brace. Both are in their 60’s and both have pretty bad knee pain. The woman remarked how well I do squats. I tactfully suggested that her weight must be a factor, since she is obviously overweight. The first thing I look at when I see someone with knee pain is their weight.

The second guy told me that his cortisone shot had just worn out and his knee is hurting badly again. He didn’t realize that cortisone shots, in the long run, will adversely affect his knees and general health. He is also overweight. So that is the reason why I am recommending you do the 2 Week Diet.

While on this For-Knees website, we focus on knee health, the idea is that knee problems are often a symptom of other health issues. And training ourselves to have a healthy diet can help us with our overall health. if weight is an issue for you. Sooner or later, excess weight will become a problem, so why not deal with it now?
